Instant Messenger Reminder Daemons

A number of years ago, I stumbled upon an instant messenger service called IM Smarter. It was an IM daemon -- you signed up on the website, and added the IMSmarter bot to your IM friends list (I believe it worked with AIM or Yahoo Messenger). And then you could open up a chat window, and send commands to the bot. You could do things like:

Sounds like a fun project.

In the meantime, I am searching for Russian OCR, and CuneiForm isn't working under Vista...any suggestions? That is, it's not working under Vista for anyone, not just me...so I'm asking for suggestions on another OCR product if you've ever had experience with those. Just in case you'd assume that I'd be asking you for CuneiForm-under-Vista support.

Hmm, excellent question. Let me ask my cousin, she might know. I am muchly lacking in Russian tech knowledge, a fact that annoys me and brings me sadness.

Can you tie it to Gcal? I use Gcal so much for reminders that I have an entire separate reminder calendar set up, and it's already able to take commands in shorthand. You can schedule via SMS:

Remember the Milk works with Twitter, which will send you task reminders as direct messages:
