I'd hug the horses, too.
Change is something humans resist the most. We hate it. We don't know what's going to happen, so it's already bad. Our critters are the same way. The unknown isn't any fun for them.
The yucky weather makes the mind numb and that doesn't help a bit either.
In a couple of weeks they will settle and then it will be easier for you. Most important, the horses are together, and now you can look for that new place with care.
I wish there were magic words to make it more better . . . .

I'm sorry to hear it's been so stressful and even though you have found something for them all, you aren't that happy with it. I do hope things improve once the horses and you settle more.
