Vividcon Vids Part I: Friday

So I've finally gotten around to writing down some of my thoughts about the vids I saw at Vividcon. And of course I wrote too much - what a surprise - so I've split the post into two. This one covers some thoughts about vids in general as well as the Friday vidshows at Vividcon, including Club Vivid.

It was SUCH a pleasure to meet you. I hope you'll drop sherrold a line and let her know you're interested in tape 1 and 2 -- I'm trying to encourage people who'd like to see them to let her know, so we can guage interest and then begin the challenging task of figuring who's going to get stuck with the duping responsibilities and make it available again! ;-)

ANd if you'd like the others, even the sold out 4, feel free to drop me or jo a line privately and we'll figure out how to get you a copies. I think 3 has the last of the Pros vids, but we're going to be digitally remastering our best vid, Fire is Burning, this year for Escapade, and then maybe we'll be also able to resurrect some others.

I will definitely drop sherrold a line - there are so many brilliant vids on those tapes; it'd be great to have them more easily available. I cannot wait to see the remastered vid - and the thought that you might decide to resurrect some of the others just fills me with happiness! I feel like such a neophyte, having so recently discovered Pros; it's always odd when in the midst of fannish passion to talk with people who have moved on. So I'm so glad to know you still have interest in those vids and that you'll never leave Pros entirely behind.

I am fairly certain that some of my many wonderful local fannish friends have copies of the earlier tapes to lend me, but if not, I will definitely be in touch with you (and I'm going to email you anyway about a few other Pros-related things). Thanks so much for the offer :-)

I just - finally - got my hands on MC 2, and I just finished watching A Fire Is Burning for the first time ever. I am simply blown away - what a fabulous vid. It is definitely worth remastering this one; it's a classic, without a doubt one of the best Pros vids I've ever seen. That's the essence of Pros right there... I fell in love with them all over again. What a pleasure to discover it - can't wait to see the remastered version!
