You're wonderful, dear, and so is your enthusiasm. I'm glad for once that something is contagious.*g*
Wish I could have been there to share with all of you, but obviously I seriously lack the dress up clothes. I wouldn't even know how or where to go out and GET any, should I ever have an opportunity to wear them. :(
I wish you'd been there too, I really do ... I so much loved meeting you at Escapade.
I had no idea where to get clothes like this; it's Smara who's guided me. You might want to ask H, actually, if you ever feel the need to find some; her outfit was fantastic.
And I am very, very glad my enthusiasm has not put you off!
I adore your enthusiasm, and I hope never, ever to become completely cynical and jaded about fandom or cons.
I tell you, every con I've been to, there has been at least one moment that I take a mental step back from wherever I am, look around at the women I'm spending time with, and find myself wanting to yell "I LOVE YOU ALL!" and cry and cuddle everyone right up in a big hug. I had one of those moments at the dS party on Friday night when I suddenly looked around at the room full of us watching gay porn together and thought, wow, you know, there's just nothing like spending time with slash fans watching gay porn to make me feel hopeful about the world. Seriously.
So thank you very much for the fabulous parties and giving me my moment of deep and overwhelming love for what we do!
I was so unspeakably thrilled to get this comment ... I'd been talking with a few people who have been in fandom for a while who seemed to feel jaded and disillusioned (and who make me feel kind of bad for being so seemingly naively and uniformly enthusiastic) and I was wondering if that was my inevitable fate. I am so glad to hear that even after more years in fandom than I've had you still are hit with that I can't believe I'm here I LOVE YOU ALL feeling - I know exactly what you mean. It's not that I think everything is perfect - it's just that the annoyances and bad things pale in comparison to the immense wonderfulness.
there's just nothing like spending time with slash fans watching gay porn to make me feel hopeful about the world. Seriously.
You know, this may sound silly to the unknowing, but I think it is truly profound, and one of the truest statements I've heard.
I'm sorry we didn't talk more (the universal post-con lament), but I'm so glad you were there, and that our room provided a venue for slasher bonding.
It means just an enormous amount to me to know that the people I care about are not put off by my ... uh ... focus (!), so thank you, thank you, thank you ....

I wish I could have been there; but I'm glad to have gotten a wee taste of it via your con report...
Fandom is wonderful, isn't it?
