So, my Birthday was pretty uneventful. I suppose that compared to last year, anything would be considered uneventful. A party like that one just doesn't easily get topped

On saturday, I got a winning Rutgers Football season - the first one since my freshman year of college. Yep, we were just reminiscing about that season too. I could see you working graveyards - you could make the best of it.
I have always tended toward the nocturnal, so I suppose that's why you (as well as several others) can probably see me on the graveyard. It's not the time of day, itself, that I'm worried about. I have more of a concern with feeling disconnected from everything and everyone. I've always worked long hours and that has certainly cut into my ability to spend time with and around people. Now, my concern is that since my hours are so offset, it will make it difficult to actually interact with anyone, outside of the few people that I come in contact with at the very end of my work day.
I'm probably worrying a bit much, as I'm just getting used to it. The most I've ever done of these hours is 1-2 weeks. I'm sure I'll get used to it. I just have to figure out how to best schedule my sleep, so I maximize the amount of human interaction that I can get.
I've been getting by pretty well without a TV for the past couple of years. You might be able to get your occasional broadcast TV craving quenched by BitTorrent. That's how I was able to snag the new Doctor Who episodes (since they're not airing in the US). Though lack of TV makes it hard to have a group of people over for a movie. But for an audience of one, the laptop might be passable.
You make a good point about BitTorrent. Unfortunately, I don't utilize that, or any other P2P sharing software.
No worries, though. I bought a TV, yesterday. It's a bit smaller than the one that I had, but I've been planning on getting a sizable LCD for a while (sometime after 1 Jan) and didn't see fit to waste money on something larger/more feature rich, that's only going to go into my bedroom, at some point.
