Oh God. This is like a list of "what never to do to servers", which is one of the things I'm hoping to learn from your journal. Not that I'd ever behave like these douchenozzles, but still, there might be things I simply don't know or realize as a customer. Like...I wouldn't have thought ordering chicken fingers with ranch dressing would be awful. Is it?

It was just the one lady. She was wearing a nurse uniform, dark blue top and bottoms with white sneakers. Odd, every other female that comes in with that attire is either really nice, or a complete cunt. As for the chicken fingers, it's just a hassle to get the ranch dressing from the back cooler. Plus, until moving to FL, I was never asked for ranch on kids meals. Weird.

Ah gotcha! I've never heard of ranch dressing ordered with anything but a salad here (Germany), but I was curious.

This is WHY I'll never wait tables!!!! I've washed dishes & been a cook, but I don't have the patience you have for a customer such as she...

Wow. Congrats on handling that crazy freakin lady so well. I'd wanna poison her margarita.

And what's the deal with brats ordering chicken fingers? Damn. I like chicken fingers. But hate being a pain. Fill me in on what I'm missing here.

Usually, you give them ketchup because they come with fries. Some ask for French dressing, which isn't weird to me at all. I was one of those kids (I always give them extra). The ranch dressing on chicken fingers, or fries just freaks me out. It's a pain getting it from the back cooler, and never have I been asked for it until moving to FL.

Just checking your journal out. I've added you.

I'm currently working as banquet waitstaff at a hotel. Be sure to check out customers_suck community.

I'm in the mid-west US and we get the occasional ranch dressing request for kid's plates, too. They put it on their fries as well as on their meat choices(not always on chicken fingers).

I was one of the kids who used to ask for French dressing for my fries and stuff, but never ranch. Must be a new thing I guess... I always just bring ketchup, and when I forget to bring out the ranch, 99% of the time, they won't ask for it either. Sometimes it's a win-win, sometimes not.

I've noticed that at times when gyros become more popular, more kids ask for ranch. Maybe the tzatziki sauce (especially Subway's ads) inspires them. Or they try it when they have buffalo wings. When I get ranch dressing for salads, I make sure that I have one boat on the side in case they ask for it for kids entrees.

Myself, I have asked for extra tarter sauce to go with the fries when I have fish. I like the spicier honey mustard on fries if I can get it.
