It's time I went through all of my stuff again and sold anything I don't need, or likely won't ever use again, in order to add some pennies to teh New York fund! The tax man screwed me out of £70 this week because I worked lots of hours last week, which sucks - why should I bother working extra when money from about two of my shifts dropped ( Read more... )

Ooh that sucks. Thta happened to my sister last summer. Except that come Christmastime she got most of it back (probably earned below some limit) so then she was happily loaded. Hope they have a similar sort of system in the UK. Except it doesn't help that you're trying to save up for a trip which isn't too far off.

GRRRRR !!! I'm not opposite from paying taxes... but in some conditions !!!!
And of course, paying taxes on the few pennies you hardly try to save for a VERY specific trip is really hard to swallow... as we say in France ! ;)
