You go girl. I admire your approach to life. If you want it go for it, no regrets.

This is the first time in ages I feel the desire to save money. I just bought a new car a year ago and I still have my old one. It's just been sitting in the driveway collecting dust. I know I can get at least a grand out of it. That should help out some with the trip.

Question: Are your parents OK with you traveling so much. Even now,(I'm like 33 and there baby girl) my parents would have a cow if I said I'm going to NYC alone.

Happy New Year to you too!

I'd get your car sold, if I were you - there's no point having something sat there, doing nothing, when it could earn you some extra dollars! :)

I'm sure they worry, but they don't let on. I guess they feel that they can't stop me from travelling if I have the money and want to. I'm a bit more wary about New York than I was about Australia, to be honest, but if I keep my head on and arrange things so I can meet up with people fairly soonish, I should be okay. I'm not gonna let fear stand in the way of my going, even if I do end up travelling alone again.

BTW, thank you for your Christmas card and your lovely message inside! :)

I'm not too worried about NYC but my husband and my parents are waaaay over protective of me. Which is kinda ridiculous considering I'm a grown woman. But it's cool that your parents are so confident in you. And hopefully we can all meet up so we won't be out there alone.

Hope work went okay! Just had a relatively quiet night myself, did take advantage of the fireworks and 1 free daiquiri though! That's the good thing about new years...there's always people trying to give away freebies! And it's about time we were treated to a Rush movie on tv; I don't wanna count the number of times they've aired Jerry Maguire or Legally Blonde! bleh, enough already! They obviously get them extremely cheap and put them on loop in the non-ratings season. eh, so much crap tv over Jan!

They usually put on PotC on Xmas Eve over here, but it's been moved to New Year this time. :) Last few good movies before teh crap Jan TV comes in. Heh.

Work went pretty well - it was constantly busy, but we all had our heads on and there were no major fallouts or mess-ups. And it was double pay which made it even better! Can't wait to see my wage slip next week - I should get at least 40 hours in, and half of it can go into my NY fund! Yay.
