It did seem very abrupt to me. And then that whole deal with the episodes suddenly being out of order when that was the order they were in since the beginning of the season... I'm probably sounding like a conspriacy theorist, but something about that screams big huge blowout that they don't want the fans to know about because TPTB... yeah they're always jerks no matter who they are (except for maybe Joss Whedon)
Although Sunday did seem like a Gero episode, what with the killing, but also kind of like Childhood's End where he wrote it his first year.
