Went back to the doctor this morning. I had a sonogram and blood work done and she told me why I have such an overgrowth of hair.

I have PCOS. Its official now.Its not really bad, but its still going to be really difficult to have children when I want to ( Read more... )

*hugs* I know exactly how you feel, I was really upset when I was told too. One thing I will say, I don't know if it is available where you are or anything but if you can get put on a drug called Metformin then do so.

I waited years being fobbed off by one doctor or another before finally being put on it and believe me it makes a huge difference. I lost weight almost immediately when I started on it and felt hundreds of times better.

Well, be happy that you have a name for your condition and the possibility of treatment which will inevitably get better in the future. =) (That's how I had to think when I was diagnosed with Crohn's. Chronic disease is a pisser, but what can ya do...)

Yeah, when you have a disease that has such vague symptoms, often you are glad to just know that it has a name. That's just how I felt XD
It still sucks though, can't deny that. But knowing what it is is the first stage of being able to treat it and deal with it :)
