Writer's Block: Phobias

Jul 24, 2008 21:56

I have a horrible phobia of vomit. I think about it everyday, thinking "what if i get sick? what if that person gets me sick? what if i get food poisoning?" it's really horrible. the strange thing though is that i'm not a germaphobe. it's more the act of vomiting that frightens me, whether its myself or someone else.

Well it's not so much that it's strange, but I have yet to find someone with my fear, which is not getting sick, though being sick is never pleasant!
By the way, does this make sense?
My blog's being weird and since I am blind and have a screen reader on my computer, I rely on speech to read what I type and this thing keeps chopping up my words.

I have this exact same phobia. It's called Emetophobia. It's basically ruining my life in some ways because I am so afraid of vomiting, that I can't even go places where there are people because Im scared of getting sick or actually vomiting in front of someone. Unlike you, I am a "germaphobe" and I probably wash my hands about 50 times per day.

yeah, i think that i may have seasonal anxiety or something because it doesnt bother me during the summer, but during the winter i become super anxious and worried. mostly because everyone gets sick during the winter...so i dread those months.
