I loved watching the extras & listening to the director's commentary on my Once Upon A Time In Mexico DVD, and I was all, 'wow, that's how they do it' and then go watch the movie again and still not notice it. :P

RE: your pitch. I'm disappointed. It didn't take me 2 minutes to read. More about 45 seconds. :( BUT. I love the idea of it. And would totes want to see/read/hear more. :D I'm writting the opening section of a novel for uni this semester. It's really hard because you hear about writers who spent 20 years on their novel and we have 14 weeks to do it. *weeps*

I know! I was so impressed when I heard about all the effective, money-saving shortcuts that were taken during El Mariachi; you'd never even believe it! I love watching the behind-the-scenes stuff, too. Now I have to watch Desperado, haha.

Wow, they're actually making you write a novel for class? That sounds like fun! I would totally love to do that but book on the 14-week timeline. Still, just because some authors spend 20 years on their novels, you have to consider the fact that sometimes it isn't always worth it. I learned during one writing workshop that spending too much time on something just makes it worse, you know? Like, hello, over-egging the pudding much? XD;; Time isn't what's important, just keep in mind... Am I helping at all? Probablyl not... -_-'

Desperado is SO COOL. I have a girl-crush on Salma Hayek and she's so awesome there.

It's like, the first 5000 words of it and I've done 2000 so far, but you have to know everything about it to set up foreshadowing, adding characters and shiz. Oh, I know. QUALITY is important. The number of times I've bashed out a story overnight and still LOVED it. Do you want to read it? I've been posting parts of it on my LJ, but just as a private entries since no body wanted to read my drafts. It's about Rameses. I'm insane, but I've totes wanted to write this story for years and now I'm actually doing it. *snoopy dances*
