Firelizard hatching

Morty was settled near the balefire with a book on woodworking and a covered dish of meat. He had pretty much spent the majority of the past week that way, waiting for the fire lizard egg to hatch.

Ali's curled up on the bed in 'her' room, working on a bit of lace and bobbing her head to whatever music she's got piping through her headphones.

I wonder if he'll be this friendly with other people...

"Time shall tell." She smiles at the crooning. "What a pleasant sound."

Yes, it is nice. I wonder what other kinds of nosies they make.

"I suspect we shall soon learn."

"As soon as it's hungry."

*He laughs* Yeah, probably.

"Think he'd like venison?"

I'm pretty sure he would. I probably ought ot cut it up small for him though.

"Yeah, that'd be a good idea. There's plenty of meat in the freezers, though, so we won't have to worry about midnight runs to the store to feed him."

Oh good. I'm glad he's not like a snake and will eat chunks of meat.

Maybe he'll be like a cat and tech himself how to hunt. Though that could do bad things to the local bird population.

"There are places in the Nexus we could bring him, if he wants to hunt."
