I think in the past, I've made it pretty darn clear that I look at my life as a spiritual journey. Sometimes, I get lost and have to ask for directions. Other times, I feel like I'm walking confidently, surefooted and stable. Either way, it's all a journey

Yeah I can understand and relate. I throw out the suggestion that at times you might make faces, both funny and otherwise, and remember that others see your whole image - smile, laughter, love for your kids, joy or concentration, and not just individual pieces such as we see in the mirror.

I personally was the most critical of myself when I was making fun of others - I wonder if they're related?

That's a good question. I'm not sure. But, I will say that isn't a problem for me. I've been made fun of most of my life, so I'm a pretty understanding/accepting sort. I'm only really, REALLY critical of myself.

My heart is filled right now with who the heck did this to you and why. Because I want to come and knock them over the head. You can tell me or not; I care but I know it's not my business, you know? You touch me deeply on this - it's obvious to me you're loving and caring and kind, which is already beauty to me - real,natural beauty, not the artifical kind.

Can I suggest an item 8? That you find at least one thing you like about each photo you post. Either post that along with your photos, or just say it to yourself: my eyes look really great there... damn, I was having a good hair day!... you get the idea. :)

Hi, I normally read your blog to gape in stupefied awe at the cakes you make. But today I'm really awestruck by your courage. Facing your fears is always hard, and I can see by the way you write about it that this is a particularly hard one for you. Facing them publicly is double hard.
