I noticed it too. It was a producer they have used before, but I think he was trying something different. The angles of the shots and everything were completely weird. There was a lot of close up shots of people's faces. At times when there should not have been up close shots of people's faces. And they lingered on for far too long. More than was comfortable.

That is what I noticed first- the close-ups of people's faces for uncomfortably long periods of time. Usually they pull that before some sort of weird medical emergency happens, so everytime they zoomed into someone's face, I got all in suspense, and then nothing happened! And then once during the episode House was fidgeting his hands, and I swear for 20 seconds the camera was zoomed in on his fidgeting hands. It was so weird. I liked the old way that they did things.

I know they've been hinting forever, which I guess is why I didn't expect it, and the way it happened was so strange, and I think the worst part is how they amplified the volume so they were smacking and making nasty wet kissing noises all over the place. Ick. You should only be able to hear the sound of kissing if you're one of the people involved, not if you're watching from several feet away!

Maybe they're trying some new technique where they get the audience more involved by making them REALLY FEEL the patient's symptoms, and that episode was meant to force us to experience anhedonia.

Hmmm, maybe you're right! But then, what happens for the next person with epilepsy? Are they going to flail the camera all over the place and maybe black part of the episode out? Man. I feel nostalgic for the old way of doing things!
