Run, See-More, Run! [Open to all]

Jan 26, 2007 16:42

See-More wasn't planning to get in trouble so quickly after leaving the hide-out. All he wanted to do was go to the nearby, ice cream shack and grab himself a twisty cone, even if it was cold out. He didn't want to be walking nearby a robbery, have the robber come up to him, hand him all of the money, and take off. And he didn't expect the police ( Read more... )

Oh, there's some way. Namely if Terra can get a notification from the police in the Tower and make her way down to where she was told. Which was, of course, exactly what happened.

But when she saw just who she was supposed to be capturing, she laughed and sat down next to him. "So, you're the bad boy this time?" she asked with a smirk.

"Manliest man ever to ride the man train from man town," she said with a laugh, not quite realizing that maybe "man train" meant something different than what she intended, and brought the rock into flight. "And if anyone asks who told you that, tell 'em you heard it from Captain Manly. He's the chief authority on things that are manly, or so I hear. He lifts bears for fun."

His face completely fell at 'man train,' and he held back a nervous laugh. "Y'sure you wanna use that word?" he asked politely. "Although, I'll certainly tell them about Captain Manly. Any guy who lifts bears has gotta be a guy people look up to."

"Heh, yeah, sure, why not? It's totally valid. Makes sense. I mean, how many guys can you fit into a car, right? You'd really need a man train for that to work." She just kept saying it and wasn't planning on stopping. "Yeah, they'd better look up to him. Or he'll throw a bear at 'em."

... oh, man, Terra. You're making it harder for See-More to stop himself frm laughing his ass off at this point. "You... really don't know what 'man train' means, don't you?"

"...You mean it's not, like, a train with men on it?" Terra's perplexed! And she led a relatively sheltered life, even with exposure to Greed, so no, she's not just playing along.

"Nah, it isn't. It's... er." He thinks of a mature way of saying it, but can't come up with any. So instead he says, with quotation marks in his fingers: "Tab A into slot B, repeat?"

After a bit of silence, Terra blushes powerfully and starts laughing hard enough to knock herself off the rock. Well, if she wanted to do that, at least. "Oh my god, I really hope you're not riding the man train."

After she starts to laugh, he joins along with her, probably laughing almost just as hard as she was. "I ain't, don't worry about it!" he says in between laughs.

"Oh man, ahah, wow." Her laughter's starting to die down slowly now. "Next time I start saying stuff like that, stop me before I make a huge fool out of myself." She's looking down now, and in fact seems to suddenly realize something. "We're almost there," she comments.

"Oh, don't worry, I will," he says once he stops laughing, and gets himself together. "And great!" Oh, man, he totally wanted to fill his tummy with some good stuff that is of the twisty cone.. and maybe other things, too, if he sees something different.

Well, this place might turn out best for him, because it's a little shopping complex, and sure, there's a Target in there as the centerpiece, but the fringe stores are little mom-and-pop places. There's, of course, the promised ice cream joint, and also a little burger-and-hot-dog store, a small pawn shop, a coffee shop, a candy store, and a little book store. And, of course, since the Target is the main attraction, the public, for the most part, is drawn there, leaving very short turnover rates for the small places, so they won't have to be waiting for very long no matter what they do there.

Terra brings the rock down into the parking lot with an apprehensive look on her face and steps off, waiting for See-More before she does anything else.

Ooh, shopping complexes such as this one are perfect for him, with all that's available in there! He jumps down off of the rock and next to her, his hands in his jacket pockets as he takes a glance around. "I don't think I've been here before," he notes.

"It's a nice little shopping center. I don't come here often, so they don't know me, but I know them." She smiles and looks away from him to concentrate on the rock. It takes her a bit longer than it normally would to meld it back into the earth, and when she's done... well, she never really realized how much power it took from her to fly. So when the rock does disappear into the ground at long last, she has to reach out blindly to put her arm around See-More, or at least to have some kind of anchor. Otherwise she'd crash to the ground, falling on her knees in exhaustion. She's not passed out, but her body is entirely limp, if only for a moment.

See-More's alarmed when she does this. He's never seen her lose control over her powers before, or anyone having difficulty with their abilities. "Whoa, hey! Terra, are you all right?" he asks, rather almost in a panic.

She breathes a few times, trying to calm herself down and get her heartbeat under control. After swallowing, she says almost breathlessly, "I can't do that again." And that seems to come out before she even realizes what just happened. "Oh, sh... See-More, please don't tell anyone that happened. No one."
