Enormous warehouse rented out? Check. Decorated all over the place? Check. Massive stereo system and a huge assortment of music? Check. Fliers sent out all over the city days before? Check

Rukia entered the warehouse in question, looking at the decorations appreciatively. The birthday girl was definitely someone who knew how to party, that much was certain. Something told her the gift she had chosen, which was wrapped in an unassuming package, would go over quite well indeed.
Blackfire flew over (because flying was clearly the most awesome way to travel, not to mention, it was faster to fly over people rather than push through) to greet Rukia with a grin.
"Glad you found your way all right." Pointing, she added, "Refreshments are over there. Food's free, but the alcohol isn't...mainly because I don't want to go broke."
Rukia is not about to blame Blackfire for showing off - after all, if she could fly, she would do it all day.
"Well, I kinda lack the build for alcohol, so that's fine by me. Love what you've done with the décor, by the way." She returned the grin, handing her gift to her.
"Oooh, thanks!" Blackfire quickly set about unwrapping the gift, curious to see what was inside. One of the best things about it being her birthday was the fact that she could completely indulge herself in little ways like this.
*Egads! Some kind of shapeless, fleshy monstrousity is trying to ooze its way into the warehouse! Tetsuo cautiously peeks in, scouting for guys wearing red pill jackets, creepy little squinty-eyed kids, or anybody else he knew prior to his arrival in the Nexus. When he sees no one he recognizes he crawls the rest of the way in. He notices there's alcoholic drinks here, and is more than happy to investigate.*
Blackfire waved. "So you did decide to come, after all. Refreshments are over there, the food is free but the booze isn't because well...invited the entire neighborhood and the Nexus."
"I bet if you had some Tamaranean rum you'd still get drunk anyways," remarked Blackfire with a little laugh. "The stuff here on earth is pretty tame, and so are the portions."
Duela arrived, carrying a large box wrapped with red wrapping paper and tied with a bow. The girl was wearing her usual clothes, and had since stopped using her crutches - but that was old news.
She smiled happily, and began to look for Blackfire.
"Duela! Glad you could make it!" greeted Blackfire, flying over. "Refreshments are just over there, and if you're totally healed, there's going to be a limbo contest that you'd probably kick a lot of butt in."
*Gasp* PARTY! <3miki_ishikawaMay 4 2007, 02:08:43 UTC
Miki roller-skated in, emerging from the shadows much like anyone of her genetic background would. She had a bento box about the size of a safe in one hand, wrapped in cloth marked with a moon overshadowed by two stalks of grain as the company logo. In the other hand, she had a large black box that shimmered slightly.
"I hope I'm not too late. Making the bento box took a while. I used recipes my dad and I worked on when he was alive, and his cooking was the best in NeoJapan. The other box is your present, I hope you like them. Roller skates. The lace-up kind that go up to the knees." Miki realized she hadn't been invited really, and so she set the gifts at Blackfire's feet, and turned to leave.

"Hey hey hey, and just where do you think you're going, young lady?" said Blackfire, flying in front of the girl to intercept her departure. "This is a party. I wouldn't have mentioned it in the Nexus and been careless enough to leave a PINpoint location if I didn't want people to come."

"Well, I'm not going to make my guests work when they're guests," said Blackfire. "But there is drinking, and if you want to suggest a couple of good mixes to the bartender, feel free."

She blinked. "Oh, uhm, this is for you!" she said, handing over the box.

She took the box, gave it a gentle rattle to see if the sound would reveal anything about what it was, then set about opening it.

"Is- Is there drinking involved? I'm an excellent bartender..."
She twittled her index fingers together nervously.

"Wakko, get out of the punch," Dot says. She's wearing a miniature evening dress.
"Seriously, Wakko," Yakko says, dressed in polka-dotted swim shorts. "You're embarrasing us."

"Don't worry about the punch," she told them. "I'll just put a sign up saying that people shouldn't drink it anymore."

Dot rolls her eyes. "Boys," she says, "go fig."
((Feel free to zap them. They're cartoons, and they're asking for it.))

"Sorry, but I think I'm way too old for you guys. But thanks for the compliment."
((OOC: With an ego like Blackfire's? She's not going to zap them unless they get really out of line.))
