The old Willy Wonka is so awesome, but the new one is good in it's own regard. I wound up watching the old one a billion times before seeing the new (Christopher loved both, so we watch the old one often).
I think Depp was supposed to be paler because Willy Wonka never left the factory? I dunno, but it was still worth the trip to the theatre.
