Pairing: Tao/Chen

Notes: this is an rp that happened and i decided to flesh it all together and there needs to be more taochen in the world thank

The pair found a secluded hillside, one away from prying eyes and cozy enough to share. Ice cream in hand, Jongdae sat down first, crossing his legs and tipping his head back to look up at the stars. Beside him Zitao chose to lie down, although the elder was a bit impaired in wondering how Zitao could manage to eat ice cream while lying down. Maybe wushu magic allowed the Chinese boy to consume his ice cream and not drop it all over his clothing.

With his eyes scanning the skies, Jongdae lets out an appreciative sigh. "I'm surprised we can see this many stars in the city. It's really pretty."

"I know, right?" Zitao is concentrating half on his ice cream, half on the sky. "It's beautiful..."

Jongdae's gaze drifts down towards the younger, and he chuckles a bit before lifting his gaze to the sky. "There's the big dipper," he says, hand lifting to point up at the most obvious constellation with his ice cream.

"Ah, really?" Zitao's eyes shift to where Jongdae is pointing. "Oh, you're right! So cool..." he trails off, and Jongdae catches sight of a blush on his cheeks.

They both sit in silence for a few moments, each working away on their ice cream. For Zitao, strawberry. For Jongdae, mint chocolate chip mixed with cookies and cream, because he really couldn't decide when they were at the parlor. Jongdae is being careful of how the ice cream gets in his mouth, occasionally bringing his fingers up to dab away any that escapes, and he glances over as Zitao just shoves the rest of his cone into his face, the sound of his chewing loud in the night. Zitao props his torso up with his elbows digging into the soft earth and Jongdae finishes his cone, wiping his hands idly on his pants.

A wry grin filters over Jongdae's lips, "Do I have something on  my face?" He looks away, because he knows he doesn't, and he just wants to tease the other.

Zitao catches this and shakes his head, biting his lip and suddenly looking very self-conscious. "Ah... Do I?"

He doesn't, but Jongdae reaches out anyway, swiping the pad of his thumb over the corner of Zitao's mouth. The younger's breath is hot but his lips are cold from the treat, and Jongdae pulls his hand away as he settles down on his elbows next to the Chinese boy. His eyes return to the sky, and he vaguely wonders if he can find the Scorpio constellation. The city lights are probably too bright, though.

From next to him Zitao rolls over and scoots closer into Jongdae's side. "Thanks, gege..." his voice is borderline shy as his face tilts up to the heavens as well.

Lying back so his back rests completely on the ground, Jongdae wraps an arm around Tao's shoulders and brings him into his side. His cheek rests on Zitao's hair, which is slightly sticky from leftover hair gel from their schedule that day. "I was never good at finding the more complicated constellations..."

Zitao's arm drapes over Jongdae's chest, the weight of it comforting. "Me neither." His head rests on Jongdae's shoulder. "Or finding any, for that matter~"

Jongdae's fingers dance lightly up and down Zitao's exposed bicep. "I tried to memorize some of them but I don't think we can see the right stars..." he lifts his free hand to gesture idly. "Scorpio is supposed to be somewhere over there."

"Hmm... really?" the tone of Zitao's voice lets Jongdae know that his face is scrunched up in concentration as he tries to see what Jongdae sees. "I can't find it, gege," comes the pout as Zitao nuzzles into Jongdae's neck. "But it's fun looking..."

Jongdae laughs, because it shouldn't be so upsetting that Zitao can't see a constellation that shouldn't be visible anyway. "It's alright," he assures the younger. "You can't see all of the stars anyway." He breathes softly, his voice going a bit quieter. "I haven't done this in forever." He moves his fingers from the younger's arm to card through the imperfect hair.

"I wish I could see all of them." Accordingly, Zitao nuzzles into the touch and nods. "But yeah, I haven't either... not since I was little. I'm glad we came here together."

Jongdae grins a bit, "I'm glad to be anywhere with you." His fingers flick at the shell of Zitao's ears teasingly, before they return to gently caressing the other's arm.

Zitao shivers with the touches, his voice soft and cheeks dusted a light pink. "Me too Jongdae. I love being with you... and, I love being like this." His face goes into Jongdae's neck, probably to hide the blush.

Jongdae has to bite his lip to contain the teasing words that are about to leave his mouth. Instead, he quietly agrees with Zitao. "It's nice. It's cheesy -" he stops and chuckles. "I mean, how I like just... doing nothing with you. But it's definitely how I want to spend my time."

"It's cheesy... but the good kind of cheesy." Zitao's chuckle washes warm breath over the expanse of Jongdae's neck. "It's so relaxing doing nothing... and doing nothing with you, it's the best."

Content with that reply to his stupid corny feelings, Jongdae lets his eyes continue roaming the sky. The brightest fleck on the black canvas catches his eye, and he nudges Zitao gently to get him to look up at it. "Look, Taozi. It's Venus. She'll go away soon when Autumn comes, but in the meantime she's helping love flourish in the Summer." He nods a bit. "The brightest thing in the sky right now."

Zitao listens well. He looks up at the planet and smiles, "Ah... is she the one who's helping us, gege?" He lets out a laugh. "Thank you, Venus!~" It's a formal thanks and Jongdae thinks it's cute. Zitao's thanks dissolves into small chuckles, and he glances up to Jongdae, his look turning contemplative. "Well... you're the brightest person on earth."

Sometimes Zitao really knows how to knock the wind right out of Jongdae's pipes. "Ah... I am?" It briefly catches him off guard, but he recovers with the shimmering of Zitao's eyes. "Well you're the brightest to me. Especially when you smile." He playfully tugs on the little fat Zitao's cheeks have, "Because your eyes are brighter than the stars."

The cheese might be too much because Zitao pulls back, looking up at Jongdae with dark red cheeks. "Jongdae... that's so cheesy." Ah, yup. Woops. Zitao laughs a bit, though, and Jongdae feels less dumb. "I'm your star~"

Jongdae snorts, "It is. I am. And..." he rests his forehead against the other's. "You are. Do I get to make a wish on you?"
"Well since I'm your star..." Zitao applies some pressure to Jongdae's forehead with his own. "I'll do my best to make your wish come true."

Jongdae's cheek muscles are burning and stretching with how big he's smiling. "What if I wished for a kiss?"

Amusement flickers in Zitao's eyes, "You don't have to waste your wish on that, you can have that whenever you want." Jongdae's stomach flips as Zitao's lips press against his, the fingers on the back of the elder's neck eliciting goosebumps.
Each time he kisses Zitao, it's like the first.

Their kisses are soft yet unyielding, their arms winding around one another to pull each other as close as they can get. "You're..." Jongdae's murmur is muffled against Zitao's lips. "... kind of amazing."

"Kind of?" is Zitao's immediate reply.

"Hey, if I lay it on too thick, there's no room for compliments later," is Jongdae's reasoning.

Zitao accepts it, "You're pretty amazing yourself." He presses a chaste kiss to Jongdae's lips, before squeezing him in his embrace. "Thank you Jongdae... you really mean a lot to me."

Jongdae's chest tightens. "You mean more than a lot to me." He lifts his eyes back up to the stars, because he's not sure his heart could take looking at Zitao with all of the emotions running through his system.

But Zitao sniffs, and Jongdae's eyes are magnetically drawn to the sound as he glances down. Zitao's eyes are glittering with unshed tears, and Jongdae feels his heart leap up into his throat.

"I'd never forget..." Zitao's voice is slightly shaky, but he's trying to control it. "You don't forget either, ok gege?"

Jongdae's heart melts. And it explodes. And it's ripped to shreds by the look on Zitao's face, Jongdae's hand automatically lifting to catch the tears that are falling. "I won't..." he finds himself saying not because he's compelled to do so, but because it's right. He watches the way the falling tears catch the rays of the moonlight, glistening with subdued elegance. "Your tears are like falling stars..." he rests his forehead on Zitao's feverish forehead. "... let's make a wish on them instead."

Zitao hiccups with his stifled cries, eyes squeezing shut to push the tears out, the liquid dropping hot onto Jongdae's forearm. "I wish... that when Venus leaves, she doesn't-" he chokes on a hiccup and Jongdae just wants to protect him forever. "-take you with her..." he's struggling to get a hold of himself and his eyes are too beautiful when Jongdae tilts his chin up.

"I won't make that wish," he whispers against Zitao's lips, "because I know she can't take me away from you."

Zitao whimpers softly, everything written on his face. "I can't tell you enough... how happy you make me, Jongdae..." Another soft cry escapes his trembling lips. "I don't want to be alone anymore..."

Everything in Jongdae breaks. "Shhh..." His arms wrap around the younger and he wants nothing more than to mesh their bodies together and melt into a puddle and roll down the hill and become one with the river. Anything. Instead he holds Zitao tightly, fluttering feather-light kisses over his cheeks. "Don't feel lonely... it breaks my heart..."

Zitao relaxes a bit with those words. He's less frantic but he's still hiccuping a bit. "When I'm with you..." his hand moves to rest over where Jongdae's heart is about to burst out of his chest. "... I finally don't feel so alone."

Jongdae's hand immediately moves to rest over Zitao's, pressing it even harder against his chest. He wants his heartbeat to dance through Zitao's fingers. "Together," he says, moving his head to kiss Zitao softly. His fingers lace with the other's, his eyes closing.

Zitao squeezes his hand in turn, his whisper an echo and the strongest thing Jongdae has ever heard. "Together."
