Title: Perspiration
Pairing: Lay/Tao
Rating: PG - drabble
Summary: Tao likes Yixing because he sweats.
A/N: idk why I enjoy the pairings no one else really thinks about but whatever, have some sweaty boys
Tao likes the smell of sweat. There was nothing odd about it, at least in his mind; sweat was the physical visual of hard work and dedication. If someone was sweating after doing something, you knew they worked hard at it. If Tao wasn't drenched at the end of wushu or dance practice, he kept going until he was pouring buckets. He was dedicated to his craft, dedicated to getting better, and feeling the liquid drip down his hot skin was justification in his almost manic want to be the best he can be.
Tao likes Yixing because he sweats. He likes Yixing because he sometimes practices for even longer than Tao does. He likes Yixing because he doesn't wipe the sweat from his body or try to dry his hair when it gets unbearable. Yixing, like Tao, just continues on, letting the sweat soak his clothes and spray onto the floor whenever he whipped his body around.
Tao likes Yixing because at the end of the day, they're sweaty together, sitting on the floor of the practice room, their bodies so slippery that even through their clothes they skid along the floor when they collapse.
Yixing likes Tao for similar reasons. He likes Tao because he's a companion for hours and hours of long practices; he likes that Tao never forgets water, or offers to spot Yixing when he tries to do something a bit beyond his ability.
Yixing likes Tao because they share sweat towels and laugh when they're too wet to properly take care of the problem. He likes that Tao has a lot to say but doesn't have the capability to say everything on his mind. He likes Tao's dedication to getting things down to a t, he likes that Tao doesn't feel hindered at being the youngest - instead he seems empowered to be equal to his gege.
Yixing likes Tao because Tao makes eye contact when he listens, he likes that Tao is subtle in presence and screaming in visual.
Tao likes kissing Yixing because Yixing is passionate, but quiet. He's passionate in the way he tilts his head and runs his hands over Tao's firm sides; he's quiet because he doesn't use words to communicate. But Tao can feel the appreciation from his gege through his fingertips, the emotions seeping into the pores those fingers touch whenever they come close like this.
Yixing likes kissing Tao because he's powerful, but insidious. He's powerful and perfectly capable of pressing back as hard as Yixing presses into him; he's insidious because a graze of his teeth there, a squeeze of his hands here reminds Yixing that he is older, but not necessarily in charge.
Their time spent together is usually quiet, but laborious. From dancing to wushu to helping each other out, to kissing and tumbling and doing all they can before they have to return to the other members.
Tao likes the smell of sweat. He likes the smell of hard work and consternation when it rolls down Yixing's neck, he likes the smell of his sweat and Yixing's sweat mixing together when they touch. Their sweat was their success, and as long as they were soaked and sated by the end of the night, there was nothing else.
