This is just me, so take it for what it is - but I figure (and have from the earliest days of Teh Interwebz) that if you have an opinion - popular or not - you ought to also have the balls to OWN THE DAMN THING. Therefore, no anonymity for me. Ever.
And, the first question? You didn't have a choice that said, "Yes, but I live in mortal fear of it." On the other hand, it is what it is (or what it will be, at least), and in a little more than 30 hours it will be OVER.
I'm definitely watching the SPN finale, but there's no real 'FUCK YEAH' about it - it's just, well, I want to know what happens and can't not watch it. There's no real enthusiasm, though. Not that I've ever found it rage-inducing per se, just uninteresting and sometimes annoying.
About anonymemes... I've never really been aware of them before the weekend shenanigans, I don't think!
You're right. I should have included a "Yes. If I must." choice in the poll.
Since I've been following the unfunnybusiness post...it looks like, for the most part, the anonymeme in question is fairly mild and self-policing. I think that may be unique to the meme, but it just looks so unscary compared to the hate-fest I was prepared for.
On the meme - I'm rather proudly "out" about that now, aren't I? It's probably the one place in fandom that I spend most of my time and interact that most with other fans. And for me (and a lot of others), it's not about hiding an unpopular opinion. It's about being able to talk to each other with no expectations, biases, or assumptions based on usernames.
I started reading some of the permanon posts. It seemed like everyone was relatively well behaved and even self-censoring. I was pleasantly surprised. I guess my only other contact with anonymemes was through wank, hateful stuff, etc.
All the anonymenes I'd heard of before were the hurtful and cruel kind. But when I started reading through the unfunnybusiness stuff, the spnpermanon seemed different in tone. The nonnies seemed reasonable and not at all mean-spirited, except for the occasional troll.

I have on the other hand a total dislike of anonymous memes that are just an excuse to be hurtful and cruel to others without getting called on it.
