Guess what? I'm still here! I have been getting chastized for not reading lj frequently enough, let alone posting, so I though a short post was in order. You know how jealous I am that you can get your masters in one year but this stupid hellhole requires two?

I'm also amused that I went to bed last night thinking "haven't heard from Julie in a while, wonder what she's up to"

are you taking a leave of absence or leaving all together? Can we go be Jewish grandmothers in New Zealand yet?

Sounds like a great plan. I now think that quitting grad school after my master's was the best decision I've ever made. Academia and the "real world" both have their advantages and disadvantages, but now I feel like if/when I go back for a Ph.D. I'll be doing it the right way, and for the right reasons, without making unreasonable sacrifices. I hope you have an awesome year off!
