Oh God. I start my new job at 8 AM tomorrow morning, and I'm sort of a little bit nervous. I'm a chronic worrier, so there isn't anything I can do about that until tomorrow actually gets here, and I force myself to suck it up and just go in there and do what I have to do ( Read more... )

I for one will always need an accountant to do my taxes, math is so not my forte and I'm sure that if I were left to my own devices I'd end up being audited every year lol.

Were you doing the big practice exam this summer? I have a friend who's going to be an accountant and he was doing a practice test in August...

Good luck and have fun on your first day at work!

Thanks!

Sadly, as the result of being the daughter of an accountant (my dad), I've actually never done my own taxes before. I KNOW, eh? So unacceptable. So, yeah -- while I'm sure that certain other accountants know lots of things about taxes, I know only what I've retained from taking tax courses at my last year of university and helping at the income tax clinic for students (that might sound impressive, but we only help the people with really basic stuff). :)

No, I didn't do the practice exam. I think you do that closer to the time you're actually writing the exam for real. There are three of them, so you've still got to get through the first two before the last, big exam.

ahhhhh I see, I think my friend is coming up to the last big exam. Sounds very scary to me.

I've never done my taxes, my dad always does them for me and explains them to me every year. I smile and nod and just give him the paperwork the next year. When he moves out of the city I will just end up paying someone to do my taxes for me. It's just that much less of a headache for me lol.
