"Mr. Voice"  Don LaFontaine has died.  Movie trailers will never be the same.

I'm still in Germany, living vicariously through everyone else's LJ entries. Work and the horses keep me busy. I have a vain hope that the huz will get a job in England, but so far, no luck. I'll keep hoping.

I know, that rich, dark-chocolately voice making even the crappiest how-did-this-ever-get-greenlighted piece of drek sound like something I had to see NOW!

I know, I ought to post something, but nothing much is happening. I'll just keep reading everyone else's entries, for now.

Where'd they all go? vespican September 2 2008, 23:29:25 UTC
Sad isn't it? As we go through life it seems that the stars and icons we have recognized for years fade away and fizzle out one by one. So many of the singers, actors, writers, and even politicians of my younger days are now gone.

To change the subject, it was nice to discover a post from you on my friends list!

Have you had a chance to check out my website yet? www.stoneislandseastories.com

Time is funny. We have so much of it when we're young. A week was eternity. Now, a year is over with a blink of an eye.

Thank you for the link. I'll check it out. I'm always on the lookout for more reading material.

My daughter just started her senior year of high school. It seems like only yesterday that she was in kindergarten. Yet when I remember those days, it seemed like the school years were only a little short of an eternity. I hear ya!
By the way, she built the website for me as her senior project. We are still putting a lot of stuff up on it, and I hope that it stays somewhat dynamic. Hopefully every time (or every few times) somebody checks it out they will find something new.

Hi Julie! Nice to see you, even though it's a sad post. At least Don achieved some name recognition this year when he appeared in a Geico commercial (very amusing).

I'm working my way through the Aubreyad again and enjoying it immensely. Just started "Reverse of the Medal."

Fingers crossed for you about the English job. Hug the horses for me. :))

I need to read the Aubreyad again. I haven't read the final four books yet, just up to and including "Wine Dark Sea." Time for another cruise, methinks. Ditto LoTR. I've not read it since the films. Right now I'm tackling "Brideshead Revisited."
