My parents took me to see the sixth Harry Potter movie today for my birthday. And Mom mostly managed to stay awake for it! (Was followed by some shopping and Mexican food, for the record.)

Some great previews. Where the Wild Things Are, 2012, Sherlock Holmes. Man, that Sherlock Holmes looked fun! And 2012, destruction!

I enjoyed it a lot more than I have previous movies, mostly because I hadn't read any of the books in well over a year and only read HBP the once to begin with and so couldn't be my usual nit picky self. Much to the delight of the friends I went with.

Also did not understand how Slughorn taught Lily but not Sirius...unless they were trying to say Sirius didn't take Potions past OWL level, and Slughorn only started teaching that year? That doesn't sound quite right though. Agree that young Riddle was creepy as all get out and someone should have picked up on that waaaaay earlier. I did like Luna stumbling over Harry better than the original version with Tonks finding him. Made more sense to me, and I like Luna better than Tonks anyway.

Personally, I thought Snape looked more like he was going to vomit on Lav-Lav and Won-Won.
