Advice to Clarion Attendees

This is aimed at Clarion Diego, but most of it is probably relevant to Clarion West and Clarion South and possibly other intensive writing workshops as well.

Before Clarion* Tell your friends and family you'll be incommunicado. I found that some of them didn't really get it even after I tried to impress it upon them. This means telephone, Email, ( Read more... )

Going to Clarion West this year.

Thank you so much for the added advice. I'll definitely be making a Clarion blog just so my in-laws think they have access to me.

Thank you! All you previous Clarionites have been incredibly supportive. It's really helping with the butterflies.

I've been telling my local friends that the best time to meet up would be at one of the readings, since I'm assuming there'll be some downtime to hang out either before the reading starts or while everyone's in line getting things signed. Does this seem like a sensible solution?

That seems likely, yea. Often people would go out for drinks or something after a reading as well. Or perhaps to a restaurant before the reading, since it was usually about dinner time.
