Slip of the tongue?

I made the funniest word-slip a couple nights ago.

As you probably know, I play a Nun in the Sound of Music. The nuns were all wearing their costumes to get used to them, and so I was walking around in mine, wimple and everything. One of the tech guys joked as I walked by, "Do you feel called, sister ( Read more... )

dsl;akfl;asgkasg Oh, the slips of the tongue!!

Maybe The Sound of Music somehow encourages things to come out differently from how you planned. I was in a school performance of it and instead of "I shall lift up mine eyes to the hills whence cometh my help", I ended up saying "I shall lift up my hills to the eyes ... " Never seen the director laugh so hard before.

When's the performance? Are you excited? :)

Oh, you were Mother Abbess! How cool! I think I would have burst a seam if I'd done that.

Opening night starts a week from tomrrrow (eek!), and we have ten shows over two weekends. This is the part of rehearsals that I love. Up until last week, the nuns had been in coister (har har). Now we get to have the comradrie I love with the rest of the cast. I just hope I can find my notes for my "Ahhh..."s in the finale... :D

Yeah, it was cool - although the costume nearly boiled me alive! :P I have lots of good memories from that show ...

Ten shows over two weekends! Wow, that's so busy! But it'll be so exciting. And oh, the comraderie, that must be so lovely. It's one of the things I miss about being in plays/musicals ... You're making me so envious. :D

I really do love it, though I think I'm gonna seriously try to tone down the number of shows I do from here on out. I always get so worn down, and I don't get any time to do what I need to do, such write, spend time with the Boy, take care of my house and furkids, and most importantly, take care of myself.

But you know what you should try? See if there are any community theaters around, if you have the time to do a show. Thats how I found this theater, and I've found so many friends through it :D

OH! LOL! You know, I misunderstood you when you told me last night - I thought it was one of your lines from the show you messed up.

The fact that it wasn't a line makes it funnier. ;)

Sometimes I forget you wanted to be a Nun. I really cannot see you being a Nun now - but then,I think you changed in St. Louis. You have no idea how innocent you were. ;)

Hehehe. I think I'm quite happy that I'm not so innocent any more, LOL.
