It has taken a very long time (and a detour that had both of us in Sydney for 6 months but us living separately for 2 years) but timmie at last has his immigrant visa (green card) to move to the US. We had no idea that getting him permission to enter the US would take over two years, nor did we know that the Australian government frowns on disabled ( Read more... )

hi! it will be wonderful to see you and timmie again!
we think of you often. in fact, just this last weekend, we quoted timmie. i got my hair cut so it is curlier now, and phil said, "well, you see, it is both curly and whurly..." which is what timmie said years ago when i asked him to describe what a cadbury curly whurly bar tasted like.
random! but anyway...yes-- it will be great to see y'all! so glad you are moving to austin. :) keep me posted!

SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU POSTING!! I think of you alll the time. In large part because I still wear the red docs you sent me allll of the time--at least three times a week, I'd say. Ten years of near-constant wear and they're still glorious. I particularly love that they were a gift and make me think of an important old friend.

Austin! Austin Texas? Oh, I love Austin. I'm living in Colorado now, but I dream perhaps of moving to Austin, maybe for grad school if I decide to try that. I would love to be in more communication from you but I am, actually, not on either facebook or twitter. Well, I guess I do have a twitter but I think I only posted there once and don't entirely understand how it works. Same for google+ and everywhere on the internet. I've become a luddite.

Glad to "hear" such good news regarding getting husband into the country -I know you've worked long/hard for that. If ever in Memphis on the trip Southwest, do stop by. Will light a candle for you, as well as follow on Twitter (@MphsRonnB if you care to follow also).
Blessed be.
