I love Mary W. She and her friends were really trying to invent a new and better world. Had they gotten it going we would all have had less misery since, I think.

I have downloaded 1559 Common prayer onto my Kindle so I know just what little boy Marlowe and Kyd listened to every week at stater mandated services. They had latin at school of course, (In fact they were only allowed to speak in Latin or Greek at school.) But I think they were really exposed to some gorgeous use of English, while they were fidgeting and in church.

Did you know that Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane used the 1662 version, even though the 1928 revision had happened, and Lord Peter's sister Helen thought the 1662 with all its references to the getting of children was vulgar? <3

Also, sugary treats in general, and bottles of Mexican real-sugar Coke in particular, are the best rewards for accomplishing one's goals *ever*. Just, you know, in case there was any doubt.

It is a quirk of my brain that I can't pick out WHICH detail I want to write about to give a good impression of the whole picture unless I KNOW the whole picture, down to details I'm NOT writing about. Therefore, stonkering amounts of research, which is a lot of time not writing DOWN any words. Plus I wind up making seating charts, and floor plans, and other things that don't necessarily show.
