Hunger Games

Did everyone here know about this Hunger Games book?

If so, good grief everybody! Why didn't you tell me about it? And more pressingly: however am I going to last three whole weeks until the sequel comes out?

I only just heard of it last week, but now I realize that the book melissa_tlc Tweeted about getting an early copy of several weeks ago must be its sequel.

Can't really afford hardback books right now, but I really want to read this. It's supposed to be the next big franchise.

Seriously, you have to! I can't STAND having no one to talk to about this. Totally fascinating story, great characters, an adorable sorta-romance, and fantastically well plotted, too. If Melissa wasn't so busy I'd have to flag her down for a breakdown! I think Cheryl's out of town too so she can't discuss with me either. DRAT!

Anyway. Definitely put it on hold at the library, and I'll be happy to loan you the sequel when it comes out. Or if you want a copy of the audiobook... not that I advocate piracy, mind you, I just... um... never mind. As I was saying, I listened to the first one on audiobook, which was a lot of fun but I think Carolyn McCormick's Peeta voice is all wrong. (It grated on me like Jim Dale's Hermione grates on a a lot of people.) Still though, I'm putting it on my shuffle and loaning the shuffle out to friends so they can get as jazzed about it as I am. My girlfriends like Twilight (wtf) but I'm hoping to illustrate to them how it sucks in comparison to this....
