This is just an excuse for sympathy, lol, and more so an entry because i never do them. :)  I'm getting my gallbladder out tomorrow.   Damn, that will teach me to eat so many fatty things.  I need to try and stop my very sweet tooth.  Anyhow I'm keeping my fingers crossed it can be done by laproscope and i might be back by sunday.  Two days or more ( Read more... )

OMG, I just read this!!! I'm such a lame LJ friend, I know, hardly ever here these days... Honey, I hope you are doing better? How was the surgery? You'll be okay, my great-aunt has had her gallbladder removed what, 20 years ago? And she's perfectly fine, just needs to be careful with fried foods.
*hugs tight*

Thanks hon! Don't worry I know you have a very busy life.
I have to say it was worse than I thought, but mainly because I was only in hospital for virtually one day and then sent home. I had an infection under the main wound and it was so painful. It took me about 15 minutes to get in and out of bed. The perils of living alone! Where was doctor Jack when I needed him? ;)

I had a weird reaction to morphine too! Saw the ceiling and windows moving for about 4 hours! lol.

It's good to know your great aunt is doing fine. Bit worrying she has to be careful with fried foods! My own doctor told me that if I want to be able to enjoy my fish and chips I need to get my gallbladder out! Oh dear I'm going to have to read up on what I should eat in future (not that it will stop me, lol).

*hugs back*

Glad to hear you're doing better but so sorry you had painful recovery! They shouldn't have let you out of the hospital so soon! Drugs like morphine can give you all sorts of funny (or scary) hallucinations, but I guess it was necessary for the procedure. I had general anesthetics a few times and one time I saw double for hours and was throwing up like a cat! *shudders*

Oh, my great aunt also suffered from stomach ulcers so may be the reason why she needs to steer clear of fried foods.

Take care of yourself! Sending Dr. Jack your way... for a short while. ;)
