Jerry, my 20yr old cat has been steadily losing weight over the last couple of weeks.  I could see the end coming, but I kept hoping (foolishly, I know) that it wouldn't.  Over the weekend, he stopped eating and started to look for places to hide (not easy when you're blind, but he managed it).  By Sunday night, I couldn't lie to myself anymore
