...Um, not to be annoying, but can anyone rec some fic? Preferably FF7, FMA, or GW? I don't get around much in fandom anymore, so I don't know What's What or Where To Go. >.>

And I'm the kind of fangirl that sticks to only a few pairings, so if not gen, then Roy/Ed, any combo of Sephiroth/Zack/Cloud (+Aeris), or 1x2/2x5/1x2x3x4x5.

Just wanted to say, that you needn't wait for Fifth Act to finish updating! Sinnatious already has everything up here. She's also written a Gen/Cloud oneshot in the same 'verse here, if you like that pairing. Fifth Act is actually gen, btw, even if it is leaning a little on the S/C side.

I haunt BeautifulFiction's LJ regularly, and while her prose can get a little purple to my tastes I still really enjoy her stuff. ^^ Babylon = <3 and Tears and Rain is one of my favorites.

I haven't seen the other two, so I'll give them a try.

You are in for a treat with St. Edward and the Dragon the author is fantastic in character development and the struggle of the characters is very realistic.

Object of Gossip is hilarious. Zakai does a wonderful job of making a person giggle. Her fics are great pick me ups.

This required some dwelling, as I'm not familiar with Gundam Wing, rather loathe Roy/Ed (I like my FMA pure gen, and am okay with Ed/Hei in CoS fic, but there's little good to be had that I've found), and pretty much only read you and Ciceqi for FFVII, but if you're not up to date with Joudama or Chibirisuchan, they've both got some good fic, gen for the former, and gen or Seph/Zack for the latter.

Where One's Responsibilities Lie: [humor, fluff] In which Vincent learns that you are responsible for the things you pick up, and in which Cloud tells someone to stop angsting. Kweh.

Insanely cute story that involves Vincent bonding with a chocobo chick.

Hee, Ciceqi and Chibirisuchan are amazing, and of course are always worth a reread. (Also generally the only people I read for FF7.) Thank you for all of these.

Er, not sure if you'd be interested, but I found an FMA fic series that's gen but with close Roy/Ed friendship, set after the series and during a time when Roy is rather broken from the lack of Hughes. The same story, once from Roy's POV: The Shadow of Desire, and once from Al's: The Restraint of Desire by Sol 1056. Strange titles for a gen, but there you go. (Warning for referenced, but not described, noncon of an underage OC.)

Too bad my slash goggles are pretty much embedded. I kept having to remind myself that it was friendship, not any other kind of -ship. *laughs*

Roy/Ed squicks me on power- and personality-clash levels, but they do make great friends in the hands of a talented author.

Ha, yeah, I kept reading it thinking ARE YOU GONNA KISS HIM YET? HOW ABOUT NOW? ...NOW? BECAUSE GODDAMN YOU MIGHT AS WELL BE FUCKING HIM ALREADY. But I thought that was disingenuous to what the author was actually doing and so gave it the benefit of the doubt.

I think it's the same deal with pre-game Sephiroth/Cloud. Just...so much potential to be abused, and often in the literal sense. ;__; Don't blame you.
