Haha, I am still mad about that awful book. I don't think I can bring myself to touch the second one.
I think my thing for books vs. show is that while TB has some problems in terms of both cultural issues and some bumps in production, it's actually a pretty good show: well-shot, the acting's not horrible, it's incredibly well edited and scored. CH's novels have an amazing premise, but are complete garbage in terms of execution. I would have written DAD when I was fifteen, and that fact saddens me. And also makes me amazingly angry.
I don't think I can bring myself to touch the second one.I'll give myself a couple of weeks before I attempt the next ones. But I was fool enough to buy the three books at once, and I hate the thought of not reading the books I buy. I'm weird like that
