So leupagus is hosting a "make other people write-a-than" on her dreamwidth. I wrote a Hawaii 5-O ficlet for her since she's the one made me watch 5 episodes of the show in one weekend. As one who remembers watching 5-0 as a kid (yes, I AM old) I think this show is actually an improvement on a good thing. And I've loved Scott Caan since the Oceans films.

Before the show premiered, I thought O'Loughlin was a horrible choice for McGarrett, but TPTB must have seen what we now see during his readings. Great show.

Have saved your drabble until I'm (more) sober.

Now I need a 5-0 icon............

I think the show works because it really revels in its silly-ness. Plus Danny and Steve seem to flirt about 50% of the time they're on screen, so that makes things more fun as well.

I need a H5-O icon too... I should work on that next.

I'm sure there must be a site for H5-0 icons - there is for every other show.

If you ever (dare to) go back and watch the originals of shows that aired in the 60's, 70's and even 80's, THEY are usually the ones that are laughable now (hello Charlie's Angels - I'm looking at you). This show? Not played for jokes. It's not 100% but it's pretty damn good.

I tots agree about Danno and Stevie w/ the flirting.....

I've not actually gotten to watch the show (I work mostly nights and I'm already crazy behind on the shows I do watch) and I still really enjoyed this. Even though it was just a ficlet, you still let me know what I needed to know about the characters and their relationships. I felt so bad for Chin at the end. And, as I work in retail, I feel bad for any person who has ever had Kono as a customer LoL

I was tempted to join up but between the massive fic I've already been working on and NaNoWriMo, I couldn't spare the time. It's a good idea to get people writing, though, definitely.
