Probably drinking to drown his sorrow of not being a wolf... I see this a lot in felines, and other furs.

If canids have more access to beer and booze I can see him renouncing his
species just to get more alcohol. Then most furs would, wouldn't they???

We wolves have no need for alcohol, except to get other furries drunk so we can laugh at them.
