XBox or PS3?

We're replacing our DVD player with a game console that also plays DVDs (so the WII is out). Anyone have any opinions on either of them?

I'd go PS3 to get a Blu-Ray player.

since the xbox's hd player lost the media war, i'd go with the PS3 blue ray player. there are hd disks out there but you will not see any new ones produced. much like the old beta vs vhs war

Unless you actually care about BluRay, get the Xbox. Save the BluRay til there are actually things on BluRay you want to buy. It's not so much better than DVD that you'll want to replace your whole library anyway. Until Firefly/Serenity and LotR are on high def, meh... who cares?

The Xbox is a superior game console. Why? Xbox Live Arcade... Carcassone and Settlers of Catan. Online. With people. They also have a cool card game called Lost Cities.
