Burn so brightly: News

Nov 07, 2011 16:39

At last, I have some concrete news for you. On Wednesday I will have handed in the first drafts of all my essays. Aevy has promised to beta chapter 5 on Friday, which means I can use Sunday to revise. I won't say anything about posting, since I don't know the extent of the necessary revisions yet, but at least there will be movement ( Read more... )

Poor Cas! That gif is scary. :(
That's how I imagine it too.

I know that Sera Gamble has said that poor Jimmy got "stewed into the water", but I refuse to believe it! :P

And though we have met a Leviathan boss already, he might either A) not be the biggest boss of them all or B) be the right guy, only shifted to a different shape. The Leviathans can do that after all.

We'll simply have to wait and seeeee.

Thanks for giving us news! I always get anxious without it lol.

As for season 7, I thought it started off promising but then it petered out again. I've recently decided to (try) to stop watching (at least until the season is over). I'll catch up later and probably watch it all at once. Personally I've been disappointed with the show on multiple levels since Sera Gamble took over. *sniffles* I hate to say it b/c I still love Supernatural and criticising it feels like blasphemy! I'm still holding on to some hope that it will become amazing again someday, though...

Anyway, for now I'm contenting myself with the Redemption Road project and other assorted fanfic, like your beautiful story which I adore ^^ As for your Cas theory, you may well be right.*weeps* I don't know if I'm strong enough to watch that!!! <----is being ridiculous

Hhmmm I also don't keep up with interviews. I don't like to know too much about the actors/writers/etc. because I like to keep the illusion of characters and story as real as possible, if that makes any sense. I do sometimes read/watch interviews but that's usually when I hear about something specific that interests me ( ... )

I watch convention videos, because the Superantural cast are hilarious, but I agree that it does something to the illusion of reality ( ... )

season 7 just makes me sad. why give us a beautiful character like Castiel we grow to love then just rip him away. sorry but I dont see a season 8 and I hate to say it I am tired of the winchester Angst story line. dont get me wrong I like some Angst but season 7 fo far has a butt load of it. that is just what i think

I think it was Ben Edlund who said "You have to love something before you can feel its loss". Perhaps they gave us this beautiful character precicely so that they could rip him away. :P
I didn't see season7, but it came. I agree that they're beginning to stretch it, though. It's clear that they hadn't planned much beyond the first five.

Having sent the boys to Heaven and Hell, put them through every painful thing a man can go through and letting them come out on the other side ... What is left? This might be the reason why season 7 feels a little empty and a little aimless, because there's nothing left to do but sit down and angst about what has been. :P
I still believe in the show, though. I think it'll pick up in the second half.

I am hoping if there is a session 8 they will see Castiel is an important character, he was why I did not just give up on the show. Maybe they will see the mistake they made and bring him back like what criminal minds did after removing Emily Prentiss & Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau from the show, but once a show starts killing off popular and important character it won’t last long. The story line would be better with Cass in it.
One thing that upset me was how people talk about how Cass betrayed Dean, I don’t see it, Cass has always done anything and everything for Dean. He rebelled & fell from grace, got himself kill at least 2 times, killed HIS own brothers, and so much more. If Dean can forgive Sam for freeing Lucifer and all the crap with the demon blood, Lying & Sneaking out to see Ruby, then the stuff he did when he was soulless. He can forgive Castiel and it seems he only tells Cass he is family when it is convenient for him. I love Dean don’t get me wrong but sometimes he just pisses me off.

Where I go in fandom, I usually just hear people speaking up for Cas. I've been lucky like that.
I totally agree that Dean needs to do some serious soul-searching and sort out his mistakes. Poor baby is so messed up, he can't tell up from down at this point, and unfortunately it caused a rift between him and Cas.
But I have faith that things will turn out alright!

I can't wait for another chapter of Burn So Brightly! I'm glad you're not rushing it though and just throwing any old thing out there just to get it up every week. I'd rather wait for the quality product it's been so far.:)

Sadly, I'm not watching S7 of SPN this year, so fanfic is where I have to get my SPN fix. I just don't trust TPTB to bring Cas back in any way worthy of his character, or to repair the relationships between Cas, Dean and Sam, so I've decided to bow out of the show I loved for so long. :(

I know how you feel, the way they did Castile’s character was just wrong and I have lost a lot of respect for SNP although I still watch b/c my husband loves the show as well. Lasts night’s SPN was funny but it is just Lacking. I wonder if the powers that be at SNP understand you can’t just got back to how the show was, it would be like me say hey I know I am 30 ( just turned 30 the 10th of this month) but I want to go back to when I was 17. You can't un-see or unlearn things. And how are you going to have the king of hell and demons with out at least the most bad a$$ angel ever (Castiel). But Misha Collins will be on one episode of The Ringer (http://www.examiner.com/tv-insider-in-los-angeles/the-cw-keeps-misha-collins-around-casts-him-on-ringer ) and then we have him in Divine: The Series (http://www.youtube.com/user/ ( ... )

You're very right about not being able to go back. I plan on watching Misha on The Ringer. I hope the ratings for that ep skyrocket. I am loving Divine. I hope they get the funding to continue.

Speaking of living in the land of fanfic, have you been reading Supernatural: Redemption Road? It is kicking the ass of canon S7.

It's now over a month since you last posted? Have you abandoned the story? I was liking it so far seems a shame not to finish.

I have absolutely not abandoned the story. I'll have the draft of chapter 5 back on Friday night, by then I'll be done with my essays, and can focus fully on the story. I said I'd finish before Christmas and I'll do my very best to make it happen.

The reason why I haven't posted in a month is because I'm ashamed to be so late. :P

I'm relieved! I hadn't quite thought you'd abandoned it yet but I was getting anxious. Now I feel better.

And yeah, I totally understand about school; it's kicking my butt lately too with essays and projects and tests. But yay for before Christmas! I'm excited.

Good luck with your essays!
