So part of my job that ISN'T mindless and boring and unskilled is the planning and leading of trainings for university staff people on LGBT issues - mainly student staff but not entirely. This makes me feel better about my career path as a clinician, given that while I don't much like public speaking and the like, sometimes I feel very much that my heart is in activism.

Indeed. And a good chunk of my spare time goes into activism (although not directly SW-related).

I tend to think almost, if not all, activism is social work. :)
