Super Mom or Evil Mom?

I feel like a rockstar this afternoon. With the baby in the sling, I prepped and cooked a chili. As in: opened all the cans of sauce/puree, drained and rinsed the beans, browned two pounds of ground meat, chopped a pepper and an onion, added spices, and stirred the whole thing up in a crock pot. Nah, it's twenty eleven. I mean, in 1911 they didn't call it "One thousand nine hundred eleven," did they?

Nice that I'm not quite the only person I know who has stuck with this wonderful time-waster.

Yes, it's true, everyone said "nineteen." But in 2000 did you say "Twenty Zero Zero" or "Twenty Aught"? No, I bet you said "two thousand." Did you say "Twenty Aught Nine"?

I imagine that people will all be saying "twenty-whatever" soon enough. I can't imagine saying "two thousand thirty-two," for example. But for now, I'm sticking to it.
