They smell o' death. They're walkin' corpses that dinnae know yet they need tae cease walkin'. But they're creatures o' chaos, like most magic, they have a scent that dinnae belong wherever they are.

There are those whit begin an unholy resurrection if they were virgins when bit by a vampire. Once they sample their first taste o' blood, they become true vampires, abominations of pure chaos but retain human cunnin'. Others bitten by vampires become ghouls, living mindless excrement o' vampires thae follow their creator's oorders when they're nae busy eating the living.

These and other monsters the church has been fightin' for centuries.
