Actually, how's my driving? This character is quite a change from what I normally do, so I'd really appreciate any criticism that could help! Though any flamers will be bayoneted.

I have no idea how to really say this, so I will just dive in head first: the accent is, WELL, ridiculous. I read that the English manga added the accent, so I realize it's not your fault that someone started this to begin with. But to quote TVtropes, "[m]ost importantly, though, it assumes that there is one 'correct' way to speak English, and that people who speak this 'correct way' don't have an accent, which is utter, utter, utter nonsense: every native speaker has an accent, and every native accent in existence is just as thick as every other accent to those who aren't familiar with it." So, haha, be aware what you are enabling, please.

It is a lot of effort you don't really need to go through, either, and it's a lot of effort for other players, too. His accent is readable, but I, personally, have to squint and reread to make sure I'm reading properly. It's really detracting to what Alexander says, too, because we focus on "wow, this character cannot speak English very well!" (even though the fact of the matter is, he can; his

That said, WHAT I CAME HERE TO SAY IS... I have no idea if your driving is good because I cannot read his posts due to the accent, and... that's a shame because I have this really catholic character who would love to talk to a battle priest, but seriously I can't read it, like I don't even try. Which may be an indictment on my character or something but now that I know the english manga does the same thing I... will also not read the manga, so I guess that means you're doing it accurately, but it's also sad for me. :P

Ah. That explains why Mello never commented. I had wondered. What exactly is so difficult to read with the dialect? Obviously, as I write it, I can't see problems with it. So any thing you could out as being extra difficult is appreciated. Because I would much prefer to tone down the dialect than just get rid of it all together. (I guess because I was exposed to/indoctrined with the English manga first, I just can't divorce the dialect from the character.)

I guess you could always read it in the original Japanese? Or watch the ovas. (they're supposed to be an almost exact translation. I can't really say, as I haven't watched all of them yet.) I really enjoy and recommend the series.

Oi, feel free to ignore me. I just wanted to say that as a friendly stalker reader of Scorched stuff... I love your Anderson. The accent kills me. I've always been a sucker for the very thick Scottish accent since the first Hellsing dub. And I hate dubs. Loathe them. Despise them. Want to crush them under my heel and burn them. ... But I loved how the first Hellsing did accents and that version and the translation of Anderson in the manga... well, there's a reason I find myself giddy when reading your posts (and I dunno, I can read them just fine). XD
