Lack of Breastfeeding Leads to Breast Obsession

Where does the breast obsession stem from?

Breast obsessionSo what is it about the breasts that makes North Americans so obsessed with them as sexual objects? In the course of history many different parts of the female body have been fetishes for men, for example ankles, necks, and tiny feet (in China), so why breast obsession in our age? I have always thought we, men, have objectified the breats of women far too much...I suppose there is a osciobiological reason, far back in the muck of primordial man...But advertising, false morality and modesty makes us view what is only natural in a very unnatural way...

if men beastfeed you bet it would be legal in public...

You are so right!
I keep hearing about the movie "Meet the Fockers"(sp?) and there is a scene where Robert DeNero is "breastfeeding" his grandson and he gives a look like, "Don't mess with me or you're going to have to deal with my fists!" I need to see that movie.

I ♥ you!

While we americans do indeed objectify the breast to ridiculous extremes, the breast IS a secondary sexual characteristic, and an erogenous zone.

Also, let us not forget that what remains covered often becomes an object of focus. If we were all nudists, the american objectification of breasts wouldn't have any power.

Lastly, breasts are a part of a woman's body, and thus they ARE beautiful. So there ya go :)

Right on, how true!!!!

I did a paper on art history and sexuality back in college. I don't remember the sources, but i came across research showing that women's breasts/cleavage look the way they do because we evolved to stand upright. Originally females attracted males with their ass/labia area, much as that swollen area attracts males of other animal species today. (and there are plenty of men who are still "ass men") As we evolved to stand more upright, our breasts took on a crude mimicking of the ass in order to attract males. I swear to god. this is what i got from my college education, lol.

I never get around to saying, but I always like your posts and comments. Good informative mentally ass kicking stuff.

And way OT, I loved all the pics of Iggy Pop, Rollins, and some other rockers you posted a while back. Eye candy is always a good thing, for us ladies too :)

Wasn't it Desmond Morris that talked about that?

Oh don't worry, believe me I'm sorry i don't post/comment as much. Got a lot to say just not as much time lately :(

I went to Rochester Institute of Technology, in NY, which *was* prolly about as geeky/repressed sexuality as you can get. But i was a techy geeky tomboy, so I hacked it thru. Somehow. lol My female friends were like that too, i guess we stuck it out.

I've been to WV. beautiful state, don't think i could live there though - isn't misfitina from there?

PS love the multi-boob icon!!!
Morris...i think it may have been. I'm gonna have to put my geek on and look his work up again.
