here. I hope you enjoy at least a few parts in this fic
beililee Jin stared at Kame's sleeping face, and he grinned at the sight of the bushy eyebrows and the awkward features that had yet to develop. Kame had a funny face, but only Jin was allowed to poke fun at him, because only Jin knew what kind of a man Kame would grow up to become. Kame would grow up to be a beautiful man; Jin could see it now, and then all of the people who made fun of Kame will feel stupid and dumb for ever thinking otherwise.
Kame shifted in his sleep, and Jin took the opportunity to poke him and wake him up from his brief slumber. Kame grumbled and groaned in the few seconds it took for him to fully awaken.
"Jin, this better be important because I'm really, really tired." Kame muttered, and he pulled the covers up higher over his body.
"Do you ever get sad when someone calls you ugly?" Jin asked, and Kame nearly snorted.
"Jin," Kame whined, his eyes still closed, and his voice tired and sleepy, "it's too late to ask these kinds of questions!"
"I know, I know," Jin said, though he really didn't, "but do you?"
"... Maybe," Kame muttered finally, and then in a much softer voice, "... yes..."
"But I think you're cute!" Jin said indignantly, as if his opinion should have been the only one that mattered.
Kame struggled to keep the smile off of his face, but he settled for covering it with the edge of his comforter.
"You're going to grow up and be beautiful, and everyone's going to feel stupid for ever thinking you are ugly!" Jin said, and he grabbed Kame's arm as if the simply act would help engrave that fact into Kame's mind.
"... Yamapi said that once to me too," Kame said tiredly, and Jin pursed his lips into a pout upon noticing the pleasant smile on Kame's face. "It made me happy."
Jin frowned. He wanted to be the one that told Kame that, to make Kame realize it, but Yamapi always beat him to everything.
"... Ne, Kame," Jin said after a moment of silence, "who do you like better?"
"Hm?"
"Between me and Pi, who do you like better?" Jin asked, and Kame opened his eyes then; there was a puzzled look on his face.
"I like you both." Kame said simply, and Jin's frown deepened.
"No, you have to like one of us more," Jin said, "so out with it!"
Kame closed his eyes again, and even in the darkness, Jin could see the light flush on his face with the minimal light that leaked in through the curtains from outside.
"Kame!"
"... Jin." Kame muttered finally, so softly that Jin barely heard. "LikeJinmore."
Jin smiled triumphantly as if he had just won the most precious treasure in the world, and even when Kame complained about Jin asking stupid questions in the middle of the night, Jin didn't come down from his high. For the remainder of the night, he couldn't even sleep as Kame's words had injected an endless supply of energy into him and all he could do was watch Kame's sleeping face so he wouldn't miss anything; so that Kame won't grow up so fast that Jin couldn't be there to watch.

There was a long period of time when Yamapi had suddenly decided that he no longer liked Kame, and Jin was never offered an explanation as to why. There were vague answers here and there, but nothing solidified into becoming anything more than a half-hearted explanation to get Jin off his back.
Kame never said anything. In fact, Jin wondered if Kame was under the wrong impression that they were still getting along fine, even with the refusal of play dates, and the lack of phone calls from Yamapi. There was never a clear, defining break between their friendship; Jin never saw it coming, and Kame didn't seem to know.
A small part of Jin, a very small part of him was happy though, because it meant that he would have Kame all to himself again. Just like how it was supposed to be. Things changed though, after Kame and Yamapi worked together in the drama 'Nobuta wo Produce', and they became closer than before, while things between Jin and Kame tensed instead.
Kame began to talk endlessly about Yamapi, and while Jin was happy that his two closest friends were getting along great, he couldn't help this bitter feeling that stirred inside of him every time Yamapi's name left Kame's lips. The catalyst to the bitter break between Jin and Kame's friendship was not the single released by two of his closest friends, but rather the real developing friendship between the them. The idea of Kame growing and changing with someone other than him there to witness it made him uncomfortable, and Jin didn't like it.
Jin never told Kame that.
"You hate me now," Kame accused on the phone one night, and Jin could tell he was drunk, otherwise Kame would never say it so outright. "You hate me..."
"I don't," Jin said, and he wondered when was the last time he heard Kame be so revealing and vulnerable like this. As if he was no longer afraid of someone ripping through the layers he tried so hard to hide under. "I don't hate you."
"But you're mad at me." Kame said, and Jin wondered when Kame became such a stranger to him, to the point where Jin felt like Kame was hundreds of miles away, even though he was only a simple drive away.
"I'm not mad at you either." Jin admitted, and it was true. He wasn't mad at Kame, but rather, he was mad at himself. He disliked the way he pushed Kame away without ever telling Kame why, and he hated himself for letting Kame wallow in depression without once offering a hand to pull him out, allowing Kame to waste away, because in some sick twisted way, seeing Kame like that gave Jin the reassurance that he was still important to Kame; that Kame might still need him.
"Then why won't you talk to me anymore," Kame asked, and he sounded too sad for Jin to be able to bear. "You won't even look at me."
"Because you don't need me," Jin replied honestly. "You have Yamapi."
"... But I need you both," Kame said, and his voice sounded tired and weak. "You're both important to me."
'But who do you need more?' hung off the tip of Jin's tongue, but he didn't dare ask, because he knew the answer he would receive was not going to be one he could take.

After things with the three of them settled, they had fallen into some kind of loose schedule where they would all go out drinking at least once a week together when they had time. Jin would always arrive late, and not because he was always busy.
"You're late again, Bakanishi." Yamapi complained, but there was a smile on his face.
"So slow Jin." Kame said, and Jin smiled sheepishly as he took the seat next to Kame's.
"Traffic." Jin lied.
"You used that excuse last time," Yamapi said with a laugh, and as if it was contagious, Kame's laughter followed. "You make us wait for you too often!"
"To make up for it, tonight's your treat." Kame offered too quickly, but they all knew Jin could never say 'no' to Kame.
"But a limit to three drinks per person!" Jin said immediately, and Kame and Yamapi laughed as they called him 'stingy,' but they all knew they were going to drink more than what they said.
When their first round of drinks came, Kame lifted his glass and said, "Let there be more tomorrows filled with happy moments~!"
Jin and Yamapi laughed at Kame's words, but they both rose their glasses as well, and the harmonious sound it made as they touched faded into the music that filled the bar.

Kame giggled as the three of them stumbled into the apartment. It was late, and because none of them were in any condition to drive, they had all ended up taking a taxi back to Kame's apartment (because it was the closest), and they were all struggling to slip out of their shoes without toppling over.
In actuality, Jin was quite sober, sober enough that he could have easily drove them all home, but he would much rather be here than back in his own apartment all alone and by himself. He would much rather be here, with Kame, just like how they were like when they were younger.
Kame tripped as he tried to walk into the living room, and he landed hard on his hands and knees, but he laughed as Jin pulled him up onto his feet.
"Thank you Jin," Kame said happily, and he leaned into Jin's body for support. "You're the best~!"
Before Jin could say anything, Kame leaned forwards and pressed a kiss to the corner of Jin's lips, and Jin flushed immediately.
"You're the greatest friend in the world." Kame said, and he looked too giddy and happy while Jin's face flushed a shade of red so deep that it was visible even in the darkness. Jin had no idea how to respond to Kame's sudden kiss, but there was a smile on his face that stretched so wide that his jaw began to feel sore and he didn't want that feeling to go away. At least, not until Kame pushed himself away from him and leaned into Yamapi's embrace instead as he kissed him on the lips with a too tender look in his eyes.
Yamapi returned it as if he had waited all of his life for this moment.

The three of them slept together on the same bed, and Jin was reminded of the days when they were younger where Kame and him would sleep over at one another's house. They would share the same bed, and Jin would annoy Kame even late in the night. There would always still be a lot of space that remained, but Kame and Jin would always sleep close together near the center, but now, with the three of them, it felt like a tight squeeze even on Kame's much bigger bed.
Kame was sandwiched in the middle, with Jin and Yamapi on either side of him. Kame's face was facing Jin's, and Jin thought he looked beautiful, just like how Jin used to imagine him years down the road when they were younger. Kame grew up to become a beautiful man, but he grew up so fast, too fast, that Jin nearly lost sight of the young Kame with the bushy brows and awkward features from so long ago too quickly.
A strand of hair fell over Kame's face, and Jin stared at it with a frown on his face. He reached forwards to push the obtrusive strand of hair away, and Kame immediately aroused from his slumber with tired groans.
"You had a strand of hair on your face." Jin said immediately, as if he was afraid that Kame would have some kind of outburst over Jin touching him while he was asleep and vulnerable, but Kame merely rubbed his eyes tiredly with an appreciative look on his face.
"Thankyou," Kame muttered, his words still slurred, "'nightJin..." Just before Kame could close his eyes and fall back to sleep, Jin's voice called him back.
"Who do you like better now," Jin blurted out. Kame eyes fluttered open, and he looked puzzled and confused. "Between me and Pi." Jin tried hard to keep his voice low so that he wouldn't wake Yamapi up, whom looked content enough sleeping with his body laying so close to Kame's, but the urgency of his words raised his voice a few notches.
Kame smiled tiredly and asked, "Didn't you ask me this before?"
"I know, but tell me again," Jin said. "I forgot." Tell me you like me more.
"I like you both," Kame said simply, and Jin could tell Kame was being completely honest with the small genuine smile, curved up just enough to see the hint of squishy cheeks that Jin loved to poke. "I like you both."
"No, there has to be one you like more," Jin insisted, "you can't like us both the same!"
"But I do..." Kame said softly, and Jin didn't like that answer. He wanted to hear Kame tell him the same thing he did nearly a decade ago, and not this 'vague' answer that said too little and assured even less. Jin wanted to pester Kame again, but when Yamapi's arms curled unconsciously around Kame's waist and drew him in closer to his warmth and away from Jin's, the smile on Kame's face said all that needed to be said.
