Heh. I've actually got a ideas for a few companion pieces. One's canon compliant. The rest...aren't. I've fallen in love with these two, and I don't want to leave them alone. I blame you. :)

You know, the more I think about it, the more I'd like to take the idea of the AK not sticking and run with it. One of those ideas I mentioned upthread was basically "What if Cedric was resurrected years later?" This actually works better. I realize that someone on twoseekers has already claimed this for Harry/Cedric, but hopefully there's room for two such stories. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the story enough to want to see more. Like I said in my notes, this story was just supposed to be a glorified thank you note for the diary entries. I seem to have found a new OTP along the way.

I’m not sure why I didn’t see this the first few times I read this fic, but the last scene in which Cedric tries time and again to get the Patronus just right seemed like the embodiment of Hufflepuff ideals. He kept trying again and again, while at the same time making sure to check on Luna’s wellbeing. You’ve done a fantastic job with this pairing and I love the fact that it was set in canon while still having a bit of an AU feel to it.

Thanks. Cedric is very Hufflepuff-y here. If I ever do the sequel I mentioned upthread, his persistance wiill be even more prominent.

That was lovely! Thanks for posting such a great story.

I like your Cedric... he's kind, and in character. I loved the chess scene, and I also like that you ended the story two weeks before the third task... the "oh, no, I know what's coming" is certainly there, but it doesn't overpower the story. Which is perfect, because this story is about the friendship-turning-to-something-more between Cedric and Luna, and that's exactly where your focus stays.

I hope you write more!

Thank you for the kind words. I freely admit to milking the reader's knowledge of Cedric's impending death for all that it's worth, so I didn't have to ram it down people's throats. I hope to return to Ced and Luna at some point. They were great fun to write.
