Excellent. Your descriptions are wonderful, they really paint the picture of what's happening. And, as always, Miranda's dialogue is pitch perfect.
I can't wait to see how this story will progress.

Your visual descriptions are quite striking, but you could develop the other senses a bit more. You have a couple token smell (coffee) and tactile (the desk, her skin) allusions, but it could use more. This is a delicate balance, of course, but you're definitely headed in the right direction.
