Thank you so much for linking me to this! Tom's voice is absolutely perfect and positively chilling. The indirect characterisation of Slughorn, Abraxas, and even Lucius, works beautifully as well.

And of course the worst thing anyone could possibly have done to Tom was pity him. I wonder if Abraxas ever realised what happened...

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Tom is a fun character to explore. Poor Abraxas probably has no idea what he's done.

Truly fascinating and without an unnecessary sentence anywhere. And there is so much to ponder here. Things I've never thought about like the fact that Tom Riddle grew up in WW2 Europe with the tensions, politics and deprivations. The aspects of Wizard law and tradition here. And even the more local things like Slughorn's parties and who got invites as well as the infamous duel.
It goes without saying that Riddle's revenge is both chilling and childish. Because really, children can be very scary in their self absorption and determination to get revenge. Combine that with an adult's power and this is a prime example of what happens.

Thank you. One of my big fannish interests is the history pf the wizarding world and Tom is perfect for exploring that. I'm glad you liked my take on Tom. He's a sociopath, not a cartoon character.

Tom's self-absorption is just perfect. I mean, Dumbledore had managed to frighten Tom Riddle--SURELY he could defeat Grindelwald!

Great job!
