I would contact someone in the local police office to see what the laws are.

If I remember correctly - the law states "own or transport a firearm or other weapon."

YOU owning a firearm, with him living in the house does not violate that. In fact, G Gordon Liddy used to talk ALL the time about how his "wife" owned dozens of firearms, since he wasn't allowed to.
