Seattle wasn't exactly his idea of a vacation, but it was certainly his kind of place. A little seedy, a little crowded, it was the ideal place to blend in and take in the sights. More to the end of blending in was Dean's concern, he was just looking to get in, get the job done and get out. Maybe see the sights afterwards ( Read more... )

Alec was doing that thing where he pretended he was an honest citizen with a job. Okay it was a crappy job, but it was cash in his hand, a steady if pathetic pay check. It also let him case a place real damned easy.

He was on his second delivery of the day when his cell rang. He answered with one hand while letting his bike coast down a hill.

"Alec? Someone's following me, Sir."

"Okay, Rabbit? Can the 'sir' crap." Rabbit was an X6. A young one at that and cute as hell. She got the name because she had a tendancy to wiggle her nose. She also had a tendancy to still 'sir' him. He'd never figured out if it was because he was a unit commander, because he was a 5 to her 6 or if it was because he tried to watch out for people at Terminal City. "And take care of who ever the hell it is."

"But. . .I can't see him. He's good, and. . . "

And she was scared. He didn't need her to voice it. She was young enough that she had never been fielded solo. And this might be a Familiar. "He know what you are?"

"I think so."Where ( ... )

Dean still kept his distance, wandering through the streets like he was just another guy out for a stroll, but keeping to dark corners and out of view all the same. He wasn't a novice at this, he knew how to tail someone without being spotted. He watched her as she pulled out her cell to chat with someone, and while that was interesting in and of itself, it got even more interesting when she started to change course a bit, instead of going in a straight line like she had earlier.

Which made him start to think that she knew she was being followed. Which kind of pissed him off, because he didn't like being caught, and also meant he wasn't going to find the nest he was looking for. But either way, he could still take care of this one once he got close enough, and that was more than enough for him, right now.

After all, he could always stick around.

He glanced up and down the street for a minute, playing it casual before following her, still keeping his distance and staying out of the street lights.

His plan, in the end, was to try and startle the shit out of her tail and hope it wasn't a Familiar. Even if it was he was still faster.

He arrived first, got of his bike, tipped it to leans against a building and hung his messenger bag from the handle bar. He knew Rabbit would take both and make sure he wasn't fired. Also it would make sure she didn't got straight back home. He wanted her out of the line of fire.

He melted into the shadows and shot a military hand signal at her telling her to fall back, and he's move in. He waited until her tail stepped past him before moving.

He slid in behind the man as silently as the cat he was and tapped the guy on the shoulder. "Didn't anyone ever tell you it wasn't nice to try and follow little girls home?"

(OOC: Figured Alec wont recognize Dean so much since there is nearly 10 years of age between them.)

He didn't turn around right away, just smirked. "Nope." He didn't turn around at first, just rested on the balls of his feet waiting for the guy to make a move. He was starting to get into the habit of not wanting to be the one to throw the first punch. That tended to make him look like the bad guy more than he tended to care for. Instead, he just wanted to take this slow and see what he was dealing with. This could just be some poor sap who was trying to stick up for the poor little possessed girl.

But he was having a feeling that the likely answer to that question was probably not. Especially with the way the guy snuck up on him -- he had to admit, that was pretty impressive and not easy to do.

"Didn't anyone ever tell you you shouldn't sneak up on people?"
