i have an awesome fucking life. seriously. for so long i've taken that for granted and been a complete retard. i'm about to have a kick ass bachelor party, i have an amazing wife-to-be, a great sex life ahead of me, and the best family i could ever hope for

today my grandfather bought me a stupidly expensive mattress (rhapsody tempurpedic) and bought us lunch. I feel a little guilty taking this, but i'm thinking this is how i need to be to my child(ren) and grandchild(ren).

I remember being overwhelmed with a gift my grandfather gave me as well: an antique handcrafted and hammered piece of silverwork from Iran, well over eighty years old. I felt a bit guilty about the extravagance, but then I had same thought as you - that is to say, that this is the way I will be with my own kids. It's just the generational way.
